Appearance

Elise is a gorgeous young woman with long blonde hair and amethyst eyes.

Novel Wend's point of view- You might even say that the certainly mysterious face of this young lady made her into a well-featured beautiful girl. The small amount of long blond hair being visible behind the veil was glittering and shining. Adding to this these mysterious pupils colored like amethyst. I ended up being charmed for a moment by her face. What continued to be on my mind, were those bulges of a certain part which weren’t adequate at such degree considering her age..^[3]

Personality

She is usually passive around men, giving off an air of submissiveness, or perhaps demureness, but her attitude becomes apparent when angered and she behaves with a will that could be described as absolute and forceful. She is the only one of his wives that punishes him for his misdeeds and he accepts the punishment without complaint.

She retains a very kind and calm demeanor when around Wendelin, allowing him the freedom to do pretty much anything except those things she considers to be of a perverted nature; she is the only member of the harem to refuse to engage in actions more intimate than kissing prior to marriage.

She appears fully accepting of Wendelin having multiple wives and merely takes on the role of first wife as appropriate to run affairs and mediate disputes; however, she tends to forcefully take a dominant position on matters regarding new women entering Wendelin's life until she feels she can trust them as a part of the harem.

Elise also has an incredibly competitive nature and is extremely possessive of her husband and his level of hierarchy. One example is that he has to always be in the front/lead every time the whole party has quests or amusement (such as he has to arrive in the quest location... first place).

Etymology

Élise is French and means "My God is an Oath or "My God is abundance."
Katharina is German and means "Pure."
Von is Dutch and means of "Noble" birth
Hohenheim in Icelandic means "Child of the night sky" or in German means "High Home."

Synopsis

Background

She is the daughter of a Viscount and the granddaughter of Egmund von Hohenheim. At a young age she showed an aptitude for healing magic and was trained by the church in healing spells. She gained the nickname of "saint" because of her talent in healing and for always helping out anyone whether noble born or commoner.

Plot

After Wend leaves to Royal Palace after becoming an associate baron, her grandfather decided he is the one she will marry. He lets her know he has decided on her husband, but due to Wend getting orders from the King to kill Grade Grande their meeting has been postponed. While Wend is doing this, Cardinal Hohenhiem went to King Helmut and asked for his permission to marry Wend and Elise. Helmut said they would make a "good couple" since they are the same age. Finally, Wend goes to the church to get the true baptism and afterwards he meets Elise. While Cardinal Hohenhiem is taking about what he hopes for in Elise's future he basically tricks Wend into taking her as his 1st wife.

Abilities & Powers

Magical Prowess

Her talent and deeds as a healer in the royal capital earned her the title of "Saint". But although her level of mana is comparable to that of the rest of the magic users in the harem, she is only capable of using Holy attribute healing magic and purification. Her holy magic has been honed to the point where she can throw a healing projectile from far distance albeit the range is much shorter than Wilmal's sniping.

Spells

Light of Miracles - the highest kind of healing magic within the holy system. It uses a huge amount of mana, but even if close to death, it will completely recover someone as long as they are alive. The mana of the one it being cast upon is recovered to about half. ^[4]

Healing - Ability to heal wounds and injuries.

Jack-of-all-Trades (Master of Many, not None)

Elise is the all around superwoman of the family. It is this characteristic of her that Wendelin is really impressed with and feels lucky that she has it. She can cook, sew clothes of any shapes or size, she can also drive (albeit... extremely competitive, at 16 years old, and... uh... gotta go fast!!!), teach, act like a noble,.... She's pretty much every man's dream. She didn't know how to swim but was able to learn quite quickly.

Engagement Ring

The engagement ring that Wend gave Elise is also a magic tool that allows mana to be stored. It is a general purpose magic tool, so anyone can use it. Once filled with mana the user can use it to refill their mana or to cast spells. Also they don't have to be a magician to be able to use the ring. It cost 3 platinum coins and Elise was hesitant to take it due to the cost.^[5] When Wend filled the ring full of mana it glowed like an emerald.

Elise appears to share the same personality characteristics as the popular character Belldandy from Oh My Goddess! (ああっ女神さまっ, Ā Megami-sama?), in the sense that they both have extremely gentle yamato nadeshiko-type personalities, though they could also appear formidable and intimidating when angered or provoked - which is generally regarded as a sign of possessing a passive yandere trait.
She fell in love with Wend during their first date, This was consistent in the Novel, Anime and Manga.
She is obsessed with the idea of driving the Baumeister household's magic cars, which she absolutely insists upon whenever the opportunity presents itself - however, her actual driving skills often leave a lot to be desired, especially since she tends to drive at unsafe speeds despite the protestations of her husband and any other incidental passengers who are unfortunate enough to accompany them inside said car. Haruka is often her sworn "rival" in such driving/racing endeavors. So far the only ones who enjoy her driving are the children of Amaile.
She carries a war mace which she sometimes uses to defend herself and her companions in battle. It is hinted in the novels that she had trained with the Holy Church's Templar in the past.
Wend, King Helmut and Klimt Kristoff von Armstrong all make comments about her "Huge" breasts.
She is the eldest daughter of Viscount Hohenheim
When Egmund von Hohenheim decided to marry her to him, Wend was still a Baronet. In the novel they get engaged after Wend defeats Grade Grande and becomes a Baron. In the Anime it is before.
When she was carrying her first child the number of guards and maids surrounding her kept growing. This was to make sure nothing happened to her since her child will be the heir.^[6]
Her and Wend's first kiss takes place at the same time and place in both the Novel and Anime.
Wend considers her slightly scary sometimes.
She was an "F" cup at 13 and a "G" cup at 15.^[7]
