Here are the incredible women behind our short film“ The Rebel Girls”, based on a true story. These women are all Rockstars and I’m so grateful for this beautiful collaboration. Our film will be premiering this week at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Come check it out if your in town. ❤️

Our film “ The Rebel Girls” is an official selection at the Indy Shorts International Film Festival. It was an awesome week where I had the opportunity to meet many incredible filmmakers and see all the great shorts that were selected to premiere at the festival. Congrats to all the filmmakers, writers, producers, actors, cast and crew who diligently put in the work day after day and on set for long hours shooting through the night in order to get their film completed. This business isn’t for the faint at heart. Our voices needs to be heard and our films need to be seen. If we don’t produce our stories, no one will !! Keep moving forward and staying the course because giving up isn’t an option!! Next stop, Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. 🥳

Congratulations to my amazing and incredibly talented sister, Samarra St. Hilaire. For so many years she’s always had a passion for storytelling. She’s an amazing occupational therapist who provides excellent care to children who are in need of early intervention services, pertaining to delays in fine motor skills. Today she can proudly add “ author “ to her resume. “Brushed Between Cultures” centers around a young teen ( Manushka) growing up in a Haitian household whose been taught that the only way you can succeed in this world is to be a doctor, lawyer, nurse or engineer. Unfortunately Manushka fears sharing her secret with her parents about her desires to be an Artist.How many of us have had to hide our creative talents from family or friends because we’re worried of being ridiculed or rejected ? Brushed Between Cultures is a story of one girls dream to pursue her passion as a brilliant Artist and the challenges she faces with having to please her family, while secretly creating exquisite paintings. I’m so excited that my sister took a leaf of Faith, chased her dreams and remained steadfast and committed to getting her book self - published. I’m so incredibly EXCITED and honored to share that our film “ The Rebel Girls” is being nominated by The Humanitas Prize. The Humanitas Prize is an award for film and television writing and is given to writers whose work explores the human condition in a nuanced and meaningful way. What the Nobel Prize is to literature and the Pulitzer Prize is to journalism, the Humanitas Prize has become for television. So grateful to have worked on this film with such a phenomenal team of content creators and most importantly so thankful to our screenwriter “ Felicia D. Henderson “ for bringing life to the words on the page. To see this story go from script to screen is truly a dream come true. Thank you Humanitas Prize for this incredible recognition.

Thank you Warner Bros Discovery & HBO for blessing the finalists with a phenomenal brunch at the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach. The decor was breathtaking and the food was absolutely delicious !! Truly grateful and thankful for this experience.
