How do I get RaceMenu presets to work? ›

Loading Presets

Navigate to the Presets tab on the right-hand side of the screen and press F9 to load the desired preset. These presets are typically included in mods like "Lore-Friendly Skyrim Character."

To use a preset in RaceMenu, select the Presets tab (top right of RaceMenu UI there are several tabs), and click or use hotkey F9 Load Preset. R246 presets carry the prefix "R246" and usually the Race the preset is intended for.

If you've already started the game, you can't change your character's race through the race menu. Select "Showracemenu" Console Command (PC): If you're playing on a PC, you can use the console command "showracemenu" to open the race menu at any time during the game. Press the tilde key (~)

All you have to do is to go in the spells menu (in the powers tab), use the "ShowRaceMenu Alternative" spell and follow the instructions. Don't use directly the "ShowRaceMenu" command, it will not work. If your character has any legendary skills, you will need to launch Skyrim with SKSE to preserve them.

Open xEdit and load the plugins that have the NPCs you want to make into presets. Select the NPC then right click and select "Apply Script...". In the "Script" drop-down, chose "NPC to Preset" and click "OK". This will make an override of the NPC to a new path file named "NPC Presets.

Speak to Galathil To Change Appearance

The lone character sitting on the edge of the Flagon will speak to the player. This is Galathil the face sculptor. She will offer her appearance-changing services for 1000 gold. She can do this as many times as the player wishes as long as they have the gold.

To bring up the menu hit the "`" key and type "showracemenu" then hit enter and "`" again to remove the console command.
