Veda was born on December 27, 1926 in Punta Gorda, Florida to the late James A. and Polly Parker Powell and was called to her Heavenly home June 3, 2012, in Shreveport, LA. She was employed with the Caddo Parish School Board as a Food Service Manager until her retirement. Mama enjoyed traveling and meals with family and friends. She would tell it like it is yet was there to hold your hand to help see you through.
She loved to laugh and joked about having a gypsy spirit. She was the glue to hold us together. She was our solid ground. She is preceded in death by parents, her husband, Sam Roppolo; her brother, James M. Powell; her daughter, Sandy Roppolo Wilson, her grandson, Randy Powell; and her niece Peggy Powell.
Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her daughters, Marie A. Roppolo Powell and husband Kenneth; Polly A. Roppolo Vergo and husband Joseph and Angela F. Roppolo Badoud and husband Michael; one sister; Zola Loverchio and husband JD, one sister-in-law; Letha F. Powell; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.

Daisy was born April 28, 1923 in Beaumont, Texas to Virginia and Harry Powers, and is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. When WW began, Daisy worked as a sheet metal worker, as many women did during that time. In her free time, she volunteered at the U.S.O in Louisville, KY. She loved helping people so much that she continued to volunteer with Volunteers of America and hospice for as long as she could. Not only will she be remembered for volunteering but also for her artistic talents.
She was always making crafts for family and friends. Preceding Daisy in death was the love of her life and husband David Pearce. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Reid and band Daniel; two sons, Stephen Pearce and wife Ann, and Herbert Pearce; grandchildren, Deb Brown and husband David, Eva Gonzales and husband Martin, Christopher Reid, David Reid and wife Lisa, Benjamin Reid, and Shauna Reid; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Joey Brown, Anthony and Juliana Gonzales, Crystal Reid, Preston Reid, Ethan and Aries Reid and Zach and Jennifer Woods; two brothers, Harry Powers and wife Marilyn, and David Powers and wife Doris; sisters, Carolyn Squires, Frances Higdon, Sarah Humphress and Dottie Roane; and brother-in-law, Milton Pearce and wife Betty.
